PATERSON, NJ - An investigation has been launched after a witness reported seeing a dog get thrown out of a car in the area of 927 Market Street on Saturday. According to Paterson Animal Control Officer John DeCando the incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m.

DeCando said the male gray poodle was “carefully rushed” to Oradell Animal Hospital where the animal was admitted for treatment in “grave condition.” The wounded animal is said to be suffering from pelvis fractures and bruising road rash. X-rays will be taken in the next 12-24 hours to determine if the dog has any significant brain damage and he will likely undergo a CT scan once he is stable enough to be sedated for the procedure.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Richie Martinez at 973-881-3640.
