PATERSON, NJ - Members of the Paterson Police Narcotics Division conducted two separate operations Wednesday resulting in a total of seven arrested, the confiscation of a significant amount of narcotics, and the recovery a handgun.
According to Paterson Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale the fist arrests came in response to multiple complaints of early morning drug dealing near Marshall St and Main St. After conducting surveillance detectives went into action at approximately 7:50 a.m. arresting Evelyn Garcia, 58, and Carlos Rodriguez, 47, both from Paterson, in the area of 65 Marshall St.
Garcia was charged with the possession of 359 glassines of heroin as well as selling 109 glassines of heroin to Rodriguez and the intent to distribute the remaining drugs.
Just hours later detectives were issued a search warrant to conduct an action at 368 Hamilton Street which resulted in the arrests of:
- Shirley Morris, 43, Paterson
- Tiffany Yonko, 26, Newark
- Curtis Morris, 29, Passaic
- Dashon Francis, 36, Paterson
- Qeishun Mcfadden, 35, Paterson
During the investigation detectives found 107 ecstasy pills, one bag of marijuana, one Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, two high capacity magazines for a 9mm handgun, one loaded magazine with eight rounds.
A total of $858 in US currency was also confiscated as a result of the two investigations.
