iPhones Reported Stolen from Westfield YMCA

February 4, 2014 4:03 p.m.

A resident of Garwood reported a burglary and theft from her unlocked motor vehicle while it was parked in the 200 block of E. South Avenue in Westfield between 10:30 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. on February 4, 2014. The estimated value of the theft was $50.00 and other personal items.

Sarah Sarimanolis, 25, of Hillside was arrested during a traffic stop for an outstanding traffic warrant issued by the Rahway Municipal Court. Sarimanolis was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released on her own recognizance by the issuing agency with a court date pending.

February 6, 2014 12:03 a.m.

Officers responded to Plainfield Police Department for a prisoner pick-up. Upon their arrival, they placed Khady D. Jean, 21, of Plainfield under arrest on the strength of Westfield Municipal Court active warrants totaling $763.00. Mrs. Jean was transported to Headquarters where she was processed and placed into cell #1 in lieu of bail.

February 9, 2014 1:33 a.m.

Thomas Macken, 20, of the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue in Scotch Plains was arrested for possession of marijuana (under 50 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Macken was transported to the Westfield Police Department Headquarters where he was processed and released on his own recognizance with a mandatory court date.

February 9, 204 12:52 p.m.

Manuel McFadden, 48, of Bayonne was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Westfield Municipal Court in the amount of $750.00. McFadden was arrested and processed. Further investigation revealed another warrant from Rahway in the amount of $150.00 and Woodbridge in the amount of $300.00. McFadden posted bail for Westfield and Woodbridge and Rahway. McFadden was released on his own recognizance.

February 9, 2014 4:45 p.m.

Danielle Gierloff, 21, of North Plainfield was arrested subsequent to a traffic stop on an outstanding warrant issued by the Bridgewater Municipal Court, with bail set at $89.00. Gierloff was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released after posting bail.

February 11, 2014 7:08 p.m.

A Westfield resident reported the theft of their iPhone 4 and accompanying OtterBox case from the YMCA, located at 301 Clark Street. The theft occurred on February 11, 2014 between 2:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The approximate value of the stolen items is $300.00.

February 11, 2014 10:29 p.m.

Courtney Schael, 50, of Westfield was arrested for an outstanding, no bail sheriff’s warrant. Schael was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and turned over to the Union County Sheriff’s Office pending a court appearance.

A Westfield resident reported the theft of their iPhone 5 and accompanying blue/gray Belkin case from the YMCA, located at 301 Clark Street. The theft occurred on February 11, 2014 between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The approximate value of the stolen items is $400.00.

February 13, 2014 12:26 a.m.

Melvin Gonzalez Jr., 22, of Perth Amboy was arrested subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Central Avenue/Sussex Avenue on an outstanding traffic warrant issued by the Westfield Municipal Court with bail set at $114.00. Gonzalez was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released after posting bail.
