Jay’s Cycle Center in Westfield Hosts Fundraiser for Furniture Assist, Inc.

WESTFIELD, NJ — On Saturday, Apr. 26, Jay’s Cycle Center hosted a “FUNdraiser” for Furniture Assist, Inc , a local non-profit organization that provides furniture, appliances and other household items free of charge to families and individuals in need.

"I want to thank my friends and my community colleagues and the very reliable and hard-working Furniture Assist volunteers who keep the organization running for being so incredible,” said event organizer Peggy Rothbaum, a volunteer with FA. “The FUNdraiser could not have happened without you."

Food patrons for the event were &Grain, Michele’s on Prospect, “MK,” Robert Treat Delicatessen, Westfield Wine and Liquors and Xocolatz. Live music was provided by Lauren Shub and Ilya Maslov, The Fang Thang and Wrong Direction (New Jersey Workshop for the Arts). Attendees also enjoyed a free party photo booth courtesy of Viral Booth of NJ., caricature drawings by Gina Minichino and complimentary massages by Carrin Fernandas, CMT Therapeutic Massage & Bodyworks LLC.

A silent auction included gift and art items donated by Sandra Grom via Tiffany, The Artist Framer, Cathy Barry, American Shoe Repair and Luggage, Trader Joe’s Company, Ella Allure, Steven Blakely, Nicole Katz, Liz Picone, Deb Donahue, Halo Salon, MK, Kabyco, Brunner Opticians, Trish Hamill, Samantha Edge, Kasich Photography, Vera Bradley Bridgewater, Fanwood Presbyterian Church Needle Nite, Paper Peddler, Diane Davis, Joyce Friedman, John Fulwood, Ahrre’s Coffee, Auto Spa, Baci Hair Salon, The Potted Geranium, The Brick Oven, 16 Prospect, Belford Tire and Auto, Mohave Grill, Clem Ehoff, Youth and Family Counseling Service and the Diamantopoulos Family. Sports memorabilia items were offered in a silent auction conducted by ALM Memorabilia.
