BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Livingston High School grad and junior at University of Pennsylvania Stephen Silvestri threw a 2-0 shutout against the Quakertown Blazers. For five innings he was pitching a perfect game and then a sixth innning double broke up his no-hitter.
Max Schmardel followed up the next day with a 4-0 pitching gem against the first place Allentown Railers. This is Silvestri's second year with the Pilots and the third year for Schmardel.
The team is home Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. and after the Street Fair on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. for a doubleheader against the Trenton Generals. Come on out to Snyder Park Field and hear the sound once again of a wooden bat hitting a baseball right here in Berkeley Heights.
