JFK Knights Varsity Team Looks to Reach .500 Mark After Rout of Bergen Tech

PATERSON, NJ - The Kennedy High varsity football team scored a decisive victory in its NJSIAA consolation game over the weekend.

The Knights defeated Bergen Tech, 42-0, for their fourth victory of the season. Knights quarterback Cornelius Kinchen completed 8 of 11 passes for 105 yards, connecting with Jazhaire Hickman for a 25-yard TD pass.
Tyquese Jackson led Kennedy with 250 total yards from scrimmage on Saturday afternoon, with three carries for 210 yards and three TDs and a 40-yard reception up the sideline. Shaon Stephenson had 10 carries for 85 yards and a TD out of the Kennedy backfield.
The Knights' defense posted their second shutout of the season, with Quashon Johnson and Zaire McGuire each making eight tackles, including three solo stops apiece. Dekyri Mims picked off two passes for Kennedy, as well.

With a 4-5 record, the Knights will be playing for a .500 season when they meet city rival Eastside High (3-6) on Thanksgiving morning.
