SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood boys soccer team's 14-game winning streak to start the season may indeed put the 2018 Raiders among the great teams in the program's storied history.

The recent play of senior Rock Valian, this week's Joint Motion Physical Therapy Athlete of the Week, is a big reason why Scotch Plains-Fanwood remains undefeated.

Valian scored the first goal in the Raiders' 2-1 victory over Cranford on Oct. 4. Two days later on Oct. 6, he set up the loan goal of the game to beat arch rival Westfield, 1-0, on the road. Valian continued his hot streak by putting two balls in the net against South Plainfield during the first 11 minutes of Wednesday's game against South Plainfield

With 6 goals already this year, Valian has already tripled last year's production. He and his Raider teammates will look to continue their undefeated streak at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, vs. Roselle at home.
