Jonathan LaBella of Berkeley Heights is Slotted to Play in Hockey Series at Yankee Stadium

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Jonathan LaBella from Berkeley Heights is going to get the opportunity to play at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, February 2. Although it is too cold to play baseball, it is perfect weather for ice hockey.

LaBella, a junior at St. Peter’s Preparatory High School in Jersey City and the Marauder’s varsity goaltender, is slated to play against the 2013 NJ Public B champions, Chatham High School.

The game is part of the National Hockey League’s first Stadium Series, which features two regular-season NHL games at the Bronx ballpark: Rangers vs Devils on January 26 and Rangers vs Islanders on January 29.

There are five local high schools that will take part in this unique opportunity. They include current number one ranked Non-Public State Champions, Delbarton, who will play Catholic Memorial High School from Boston, second ranked Don Bosco Prep who will play third ranked Christian Brother’s Academy, and thirteenth ranked St. Peter’s who will play fourth ranked Chatham.
