SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Bob Jones, a longtime political strategist for South Plainfield’s Republican Party, was recently named a 2015 Reed Awards finalist by Campaigns & Elections magazine.

Named after the magazine’s founder Stanley Foster Reed, the Reed Awards recognize excellence in campaign management, political consulting and political design. The winners of the magazine’s s annual contest for political advertising for be announced later this month.

Jones led last year's re-election effort for South Plainfield Mayor Matt Anesh and is a finalist in the Best Mail Piece for a Republican Mayoral Candidate for a piece called "Chrissyos" he developed and designed for Anesh's 2014 re-election campaign. Jones also managed the GOP council’s re-election campaign and is up for an award for work he did for that campaign; His “The Amazing Tax Hike Race - Tax Merge” piece is a contender in the Most Original or Innovative Collateral Item category.

"I'm excited to be a finalist in two categories," said Jones, who was also a 2014 Reeds finalist; although he did not win, Jones took home a Pollie Award from the American Association of Political Consultants. It was his third Pollie Award in as many years.

The 2015 Reed Award winners will be announced at the Reed Awards & Conference in Las Vegas on Jan. 23
