Kerry Leigh, of Actualize Your Health!, and Karin Johnson, AcuSource Healing LLC, both of Cedar Grove, are hosting a benefit for the Cedar Grove Library on July 24, 2010, from 8am to 4pm. This wellness event will be held in the relaxing spa setting at AcuSource Healing, 96 Bowden Road, Cedar Grove.

Discounted and shorter-length services will be offered, with 100% of the proceeds to be donated to the Cedar Grove Library. Several health and wellness practitioners will be participating in order to share their expertise in massage, acupuncture, acupressure, core synchronism, yoga, essential oils, nutrition, and more with area residents. Healthy refreshments will also be available. Information about specific services and pricing is available at the CG Library as well as at www.AcuSourceHealing.com. The savings for participants will range from $13 to $65 off regular prices, depending on the services selected. Advance registration is required for scheduling purposes. For more information or to register, call 973-332-8738.

The participating providers offering services at the July 24 benefit include the following: Karin Johnson, a certified acupuncturist and owner of AcuSource Healing, offers traditional, classic, and Japanese acupuncture, and for those who prefer a needleless approach, Microcurrent ColorLight Therapy is also available. She employs cutting-edge technologies, including Japanese and Classic Style Acupuncture, Micro-Light Needleless Acupuncture, Foot Detox, Aroma Thearpy, Bio-Mat Therapy, Massage Therapy, Far Infrared Sauna, Ear Coning, CranioSacral Therapy, Transitions Life Style Program, Facial and Whole Body Rejuvination, and the Raindrop Technique. Karin specializes in using a variety of holistic techniques to improve a person's physical health and the well-being of their mind and spirit. Treatments range in scope from pain relief for both acute and chronic conditions to facial and whole-body rejuvenation, as well as infertility, smoking cessation, allergies, and sports injuries.

Kerry Leigh, a trained, experienced, and Certified Core Synchronism Practitioner, offers Core Synchronism, a deep balancing of the body's physical, energetic, and fluid mechanics, which results in activating an individual's self-healing ability. In a typical session, during which the client remains fully clothed and lies comfortably on the massage table, her goal is to reestablish synchronistic balance between the cerebrospinal fluid, core current, and dis-synchronistic body part(s)—through palpation and focused intent—correcting imbalances and creating lasting well-being. With over 20 years of experience as a wellness provider, 18 of them as a licensed or certified massage therapist, Kerry has learned that while massage therapy accesses the physical and energetic realms for healing, Core Synchronism can reach deeper causal imbalances and create lasting transformation.

Sarah Persad has been a massage therapist since 2007. She offers the different massage modalities, including Deep tissue, Hot Stone Therapy, Swedish, Reflexology, and Raindrop Therapy. Jude Riekert has been an occupational therapist for 24 years with experience in pediatrics presia in autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and sensory integration. She has advanced training in Craniosacral Therapy and also works with postural alignment difficulties.

Additionally, the participating practitioners have launched a "Share the Wellness" fundraiser in conjunction with Wellness Possibilities, a nationwide network of wellness service providers. The Wellness Possibilities "Share the Wellness" fundraiser will give people the choice of giving a gift of wellness for any gift-giving occasion. Anyone can participate by visiting http://www.wellnesspossibilities.com/Wellness-Fundraisers.aspx  and purchasing a gift certificate, becoming a wellness club member, or becoming a provider in the Wellness Possibilities Network. Wellness Possibilities Gift Certificates are available in numerous denominations starting at $25. A portion of all purchases at the Web site using the promotional code "CGLIBRARY" will be donated to the Cedar Grove Library. A gift of wellness can make a huge difference in people's lives. The fundraiser will be ongoing through the end of the year.
