KENILWORTH, NJ – Nicky Pallito, 13, who will be going into eighth grade at David Brearley Middle School recently won two national titles for wrestling at the Southeast Summer Championships in South Carolina. It was a three-day event held in Myrtle Beach and Pallito won the individual titles in 12 u and 15 u. Going 6-0 with 6 pins in duals in 12 u and 5-1 in 15 u duals.
His coach Filiberto Colòn, from the Colòn Trained Wrestling School, said “I am very proud of the performance Nicky put out there. It was great to see him dominate his own age group and win a national title and then go up an age group and challenge himself and also win a national title at that age group. Nicky did something not a lot of kids at the youth level could do and that's go and wrestle 18 matches and have a record of 17-1. That shows that he is a true warrior. A whole recreation season has 15 matches and Nicky did that in a week. His hard work and tedious training is truly paying off, and I am really glad I get to be in his corner.”
"I felt strong going in my mind was right I was back in the room I was ready to go” Pallito emphasized. “The wrestler with the best coach always comes out on top. I have that.”
