PATERSON, NJ - Strong rebounding and a big fourth quarter carried the John F. Kennedy varsity girls basketball team to a 66-61 victory over Passaic Valley on Friday.
The JFK girls trailed, 44-43, at the end of three quarters before outscoring Passaic Valley, 23-17, in the final period. Diamond Singletary scored 17 points to lead a balanced attack for JFK.
Also contributing heavily to the scoring attack for JFK were Tajae Stevenson, with 16 points, and Tamia Williams, with 15 points. Stevenson's strong all-around performance also resulted in 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
De'mean Bond was the leading rebounder for JFK with 19 rebounds. Williams grabbed 14 rebounds.
