Report of a theft in the 400 block Otisco Drive. Suspect(s) unknown removed $1,475.00 worth of jewelry from a dresser in the residence.

After being stopped for motor vehicle violations, Roman Buchak, 29, of Westfield was arrested on outstanding warrants from Westfield, Franklin Boro, and Scotch Plains. Buchak was processed and held for court.

Tiffany Scannella, 23, of Rahway was arrested for possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia and multiple warrants during a motor vehicle stop. Warrants all out of Linden with bail set at $500.00.

Report of criminal mischief in the 300 block of Livingston Street. Victim reported that between 12:05 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. today, suspect(s) unknown poured latex paint into the gas tank of his motor vehicle as it was parked in his driveway.

Report of identity theft in the 600 block of Hort Street. Victim reports that personal information was improperly obtained by persons unknown and used for insurance reasons.

Report of identity theft in the 100 block of Manchester Drive. Victim reported that person(s) unknown obtained personal information improperly and used it to submit a false income tax return in order to get a refund.

June 25, 2014 1:15 p.m.

Report of a theft in the 100 block of Moss Avenue. Victim reported that suspect(s) unknown took a radio telephone that had been delivered at his address. Suspect(s) unknown had taken the ham radio valued at $1,000.00.

A resident from Springfield reports that while their vehicle was parked in the 500 block of Trinity Place, unknown actors gained entry. Victim states that at this time only the insurance card is missing.

A resident from Lawnside Place reports that their child’s bicycle was stolen when left unattended. Resident reports the bicycle to have a value of $343.79 and that it was actually taken on 06/24/14.

A resident of the 100 block of Elizabeth Avenue reports being the victim of unknown parties illegally dumping trash in front of her house.

June 27, 2014 3:45 p.m.

A resident from the 100 block of Florence Avenue reports that a bicycle was stolen from one of their children when visiting a friend on the 900 block of Sedgewick Court. Victim states that the value of the bicycle is $600.00.

June 28, 2014 1:13 p.m.

A resident in the 400 block of N. Scotch Plains Avenue reports that unknown actor(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and removed their Motorola Droid mini cellular phone while it was parked near the intersection of Hort Street and N. Scotch Plains Avenue. The approximate value of the theft is $450.00.

June 28, 2014 11:02 p.m.

A 17 year old juvenile from Easton, PA was arrested during a motor vehicle stop in the 700 block of Central Avenue for possession of under 50 grams of suspected marijuana. The juvenile was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released to his parents.

June 29, 2014 10:18 a.m.

Angel Otero, 55, of Watchung was arrested on the strength of Westfield Municipal Court warrant E14-9617 in the amount of $200.00 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of W. South Avenue by Summit Avenue. Otero was transported to Westfield Police Department where he was processed and released after posting full bail.

June 30, 2014 4:45 a.m.

LaQuanda Harrington, 25, of Rochester, NY was arrested at Police Headquarters for two outstanding Westfield Municipal Court warrants. Both warrants consisted of motor vehicle and criminal charges with total bail set at $1,000.00, no 10%. Harrington was transported to Union County Jail.

June 30, 2014 3:01 p.m.

Angelica Naranjo, 35, of Westfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Westfield. Naranjo was processed and released after posting bail.

July 2, 2014 12:37 a.m.

Rashawn Hendricks, 19, of Plainfield was arrested pursuant to a motor vehicle stop for D.W.I. Hendricks was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters for arrest processing. Hendricks was subsequently released to a sober adult.

July 2, 2014 2:20 a.m.

A resident of the 100 block of Myrtle Avenue reported a theft of their 1989 Cadillac Brougham from the roadway in front of their residence. The vehicle is valued at approximately $1,000.00.

36-Year-Old Man Shot to Death in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, NJ - A fatal shooting that took place in Plainfield Thursday morning (Dec.8th) is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Friday.
