The South Plainfield Knights of Columbus recently completed the 2014 Lenten Fish Dinners at Holy Savior Academy School. This is the 10th year the South Plainfield Knights of Columbus have been running these dinners.
Over the 6 weeks 1783 dinners were sold with an average of over 300 people ordering dinners each week. The 300 dinners that were sold each Friday during lent were given out in only a 2 hour window.
The Knights would like to thank all of the men and women who volunteered their time in helping set up, prepare, serve and clean up, especially Knights members Lenny Kleczkowski, Tom Frantz and Bob Longo who stepped up for leading roles in the dinners.
Without everyone’s dedication, the dinners would not have run as smoothly as they did. In addition special thanks to all the Sacred Heart church members, community volunteers, the youth from both Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Czestochowa Churches, and the Columbian Squires who all contributed many hours of help.
The Knights would like to thank McCriskin–Gustafson & the South Plainfield Funeral Homes for their very generous donations. It’s great to see our local businesses support such a popular local event.
Lastly the Knights of Columbus and Father John Paul Alvarado would like to thank all of the residents of South Plainfield and out of town visitors who shared their Friday night meals over the 6 weeks of Lent.
