CHATHAM, NJ - "Kids Give Back" is a special program sponsored by Peapod, which introduces students to nutrition and math skills in order to piece together a $250 food donation for a local food bank of the class’ choosing. Lafayette Fourth Graders made their donation through this program.

The presentation was conducted by Peg Merzbacher, Marketing Director for Peapod. The program was separaged into three parts:

In-classroom presentation: Students learned about the need for nutritious foods in community food banks, “Eat this, not that” style food comparisons, and how the tools on Peapod.com can help them budget and sort items by nutritional aspects.

Then, the classroom teacher worked with students, using budgeting and nutrition skills to choose foods for the delivery order. Peapod provided $250 in gift cards for the purchase.
