SPARTA, NJ - Elizabethtown Gas began working on July 14 to lay new gas lines from Mohawk Avenue to West Shore Trail. In order to extend service along that route, they will install approximately 2,000 feet of new gas main, according to Duane Bourne, spokesman for Elizabethtown Gas.
The Lake Mohawk Country Club will hook up to the new service along with seven other businesses. The project will make natural gas available to additional businesses and residents along the route as well.
Anyone interested in connecting to the new service would need to contact the Elizabethtown Energy Connection Center, not the township, as explained by Township Manager Bill Close. This is not a township project.
The project was projected to be completed by the end of the month. During that time there will continue to be lane closures from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. each day.
