A Lansdale man is the plaintiff in the $1 million civil rights lawsuit against a Philadelphia Police officer accused of roughing up, handcuffing and driving around the Iraq War veteran in March 2013, according to the Connecticut News Times.
Roderick King is suing Kevin Corcoran in the incident. Corcoran, now suspended from the force, was charged with false imprisonment and official oppression, and faces dismissal, per the report.
The whole thing was caught on video via cell phones. Corcoran got out of his patrol car to challenge accusations of an illegal turn, per the report. King was one of those recording, and was the one allegedly assaulted, cuffed, driven around and later released by Corcoran, per the report.
