SPRINGFIELD, NJ — As of the latest figures released on Dec. 2 and covering the period between Nov. 30 and Dec. 2, Springfield saw an increase of 16 new COVID-19 cases.

Since Wednesday, November 30th, Springfield's case number now totals 528 positive tests and 23 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Of the 16 new cases, the breakdown of ages and genders is as follows:

  • 1 Female less than 10 years of age
  • 2 Female mid teens
  • 4 Females ages 20s-50s
  • 2 Females ages 60+
  • 5 Males ages 20s-50s
  • 2 Males ages 60+

Overall, Union County had 532 new cases of COVID-19 and 6 new deaths, totaling 28,969 positive tests and 1,270 COVID-19 related deaths. The State of New Jersey had 8,902 new cases of COVID-19 and 145 new deaths for a total of 346,206 positive tests and 15,309 COVID-19 related deaths.

The latest hospitalization stats is as follows:

  • 3,287 patients are hospitalized 
  • 599 patients are in critical care
  • 354 patients are on ventilators
  • 367 patients were discharged
