CRANFORD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood's lacrosse season ended on Saturday with a 12-11 loss to Cranford in NJSIAA State Tournament.

The Cougars jumped out to a 5-2 first quarter lead, which the Raiders narrowed to a two-goal deficit, 8-6, by the halfway point. The Raiders continued to battle all game long and tied the game in the third period. Cranford outscored Scotch Plains-Fanwood in the final frame, 2-1, to win the game and advance to the next round in the tournament.

"Obviously not the ending we wanted but we battled the whole game just like we did all season," Coach Nick Miceli told TAPintoSPF. "Whenever the season ends it always tough to swallow."
