SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Two of America’s most renowned singer-songwriters, Tom Rush and John Sebastian, will be performing at SOPAC this Friday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m.
Sebastian has been enthralling audiences for almost 40 years. As founder of the Lovin’ Spoonful, he wrote a string of hits that followed in the wake of the British invasion. He has remained vital as a solo artist, and has also worked as a studio musician and TV/film scorer. With Top 10 hits like, “Do You Believe In Magic,” “Summer In the City,” “Daydream,” and "Welcome Back," you know the music even if you do not know the name.
Tom Rush has had a huge impact on American music despite not having the kind of chart-topping hits of some of his peers. Considered a "songwriter’s songwriter," Rush helped shape the folk revival in the ’60s and stayed a force in the folk world through the ’80s and ’90s, and 2000s. His music has influenced generations of artists. It is not hype to say that this is your chance to see a legendary performer and songwriter.
