MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood Township Committee Members Greg Lembrich and Vic DeLuca have each had acts of vandalism happen at their homes on Aug. 4. The governing bodies of Maplewood and South Orange released a joint statement today decrying the incidents.

"Persons entered their property and placed several yard signs near their front doors," said the statement. "These signs expressed anti-police messages, contained derogatory and offensive language, and, in one instance, specifically included the name of South Orange Police Chief Kyle Kroll."

The statement expresses concern over the "targeted nature" of these actions and assures that the "authorities are treating this matter seriously, and an investigation is ongoing."
