Lengner Throws One-Hit Shutout as Chatham Tops Union Catholic

CHATHAM, NJ - Anna Lengner struck out 12 in tossing a one-hitter and Jocelyn Spencer collected three hits as Chatham snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-0 softball win over Union Catholic on Monday at Shunpike Field. Spencer, who finished with three hits and two RBI, hit an RBI triple in the fourth inning that boosted Chatham's lead to 7-0.

In the top of the seventh with a runner on first, Lengner fielded a come-backer and threw to second, where shortstop Camryn Davies made the putout and threw to first baseman Sarah McCabe, for the game-ending double play. 

Lindsey Rotoly singled for the only base hit by Union Catholic (15-7).

Chatham (14-10) is set to play host to Irvington in the opening round of the NJSIAA tournament.
