Letter of Gratitude to the Fanwood Recreation Commissioners

June 27, 2014 at 1:13 PM

To The Editor:
As we begin another summer of fun activities in our parks, I want to express my gratitude  to the dedicated Fanwood Recreation Commissioners who did such a tremendous job in staging the Annual Party in the Park held on Tuesday June 24th.
Hundreds of our neighbors participated at the La Grande Park event which served as a fantastic kick-off to our weekly Summer Movie Series. Children and adults alike were  happily entertained with food, drink, games and rides until Disney’s “Frozen” began at dusk. Adding to the fun, this lively crowd sang along with the soundtrack throughout the movie and filled the whole neighborhood with song!
The evening could not have been possible without the dedication of our volunteer commissioners.  They put heart and soul into this event and do the same for every other event we stage throughout the year. I cannot thank them enough. Bravo for a job well done!
‎Here's to a safe and enjoyable summer for all and many more happy gatherings together.
Mayor Colleen Mahr
