LINDEN, NJ - Linden Police responded to the 700 block of McCandless Street around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday evening for a report of shots being fired.
According to authorities, officers responded to Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Park, after they heard the sound of gunshots in the area. Two of the rounds struck homes on the 800 block of Bower St.
There were no reported injuries stemming from the incident.
“We are fortunate that no one was hurt in this incident,” said Linden Police Chief David Hart. “Each and every one of us has a responsibility to protect our community from violence, and anyone with information that can help take these criminals off of our streets needs to come forward before innocent people are hurt.”
