LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The Livingston basketball teams will be moving up to a more competitive division of the Super Essex Conference next winter.

The Lancers girls basketball team, who competed in the Independence Division this past season and finished with an 18-6 overall record, next season will be moved into the Colonial Division. Livingston did not lose a game to a division opponent in 2018-19.

Although Livingston is a Group 4 school, the Lady Lancers played last season in a division comprised almost entirely of smaller schools, with the exception of Belleville. Next winter in the Colonial Division, Livingston will be playing a round-robin schedule against Montclair, Millburn, Caldwell, Collegiate, Mount St. Dominic and Cedar Grove.

The Livingston boys basketball team will also move up from the Independence to the Colonial Division after posting a 13-10 record (9-5 in division) that was the best in many years for the Lancers. In the Colonial Division, the Livingston boys team will compete against Orange, East Orange, North Star, Nutley, Verona, Millburn and Shabazz.
