Livingston Girls Soccer Beats Ridgewood, 4-3

LIVINGSTON, NJ - Livingston faced Ridgewood in the NJSIAA tournament at home yesterday and was left triumphant with a final score, 4-3.

The first half of the game was played mostly towards the center of the field. There were many attempted goals and saves by Livingston’s goalie, leaving the final score at the end of the first half, 0-0.

“I don’t think we played our best. I think part of the reason is because Ridgewood is a very good team - very well coached. But we never gave up on the game,” said Head Coach Paul Raiz.

The second half of the game was much like the first with many chances and attempted goals.

After Ridgewood scored their first goal, Livingston became determined to tie the score, and with only 5 minutes left, Abby Kuznick scored to tie, 1-1.

As the game neared an end, the score remained 1-1, which led to two 10 minute overtime periods and ultimately to penalty kicks.  Erica Dippold scored the final penalty kick for Livingston making the final score, 4-3.

Livingston will play Clifton on Nov. 11.
