Livingston H.S.'s Fall 2014 Athletic Registration Now Open

May 8, 2014 at 6:40 AM

LIVINGSTON, NJ – Livingston’s Director of Athletics Patrick J. Genova has announced that parents are now able to complete STEP 1 in the registration process by registering their children for Fall 2014 interscholastic athletics on the Genisis parent portal, according to the May 6 Lancer Flash News,

In the note, he said, “Hopefully those 27 parents, who have already registered for a fall sport, found the process easy to complete. Just think, no more copies of the permission card, emergency form, steroid, Impact, concussion, cardiac or SAGE forms are needed to be downloaded, completed and submitted to the high school nurse. That should save everyone a lot of time.”

REMINDER: Step 1 MUST be completed by August 1, 2014. If Step 1 and Step 2 (physical) are not completed by then, the student will not be fully registered and will not be permitted to play a fall sport. Take care of Step 1 as soon as possible.

If a student isn't certain about whether or not they may want to play a fall sport, they should register for the one that they think they may be interested in.  The sport can be changed later, however the initial registration must be completed by August 1.

Step 2 is the physical, and that too must be completed by August 1. According to Genova, there are new forms on the website and they are hard not to miss.  The process for Step 2 is also easier to complete.

Physicals are valid for one calendar year, so if the athletic physical will not expire prior to August 18, 2014, which is the first day of fall practice, there is no need to obtain a new physical. However, if that physical was administered more than 90 days prior to August 18, the parent only needs to complete the Health History Update Questionnaire.

If the child needs a new physical—it too must be submitted to the LHS nurse prior to August, when registration closes. For those who may need assistance in obtaining a free athletic physical, LHS is offering TWO dates for parent to obtain a physical.

  • June 11, at 4:00 p.m., at the high school (this is being offered before school dismisses for the summer so if your child is leaving town this summer, this should be an option); and
  • July 30, at 8 a.m. at the high school.

Man vs. Waze

Ever since bridge repair closed a major thoroughfare near my house, the traffic on my sleepy street has increased dramatically.  And it is not by accident that commuters have figured out ...
