LIVINGSTON, NJ – On January 1, 2014 at the Township Reorganization Meeting, Township Manager Michele Meade announced the launch of Livingston’s new Facebook page. “Now, residents can have valuable information and updates sent directly to their computer or mobile device,” said Meade.
The Facebook launch was timed to help residents through snowstorm Hercules this past week. Those residents who “Liked” the Livingston page had the latest information posted directly onto their newsfeeds.
The town’s Facebook posts offered up-to-the-minute information during and after the storm, so residents had plowing and salting statuses, trash and recycling updates, and safety tips.
“I encourage everyone to go to Facebook and “Like” our page,” stated newly sworn-in Mayor Michael Rieber. ”Once residents have linked to the official Livingston Facebook page, they will be able to see all of our updates and communications as soon as they are posted.”
