LIVINGSTON, NJ — Attempts to revive an 80-year-old resident who had fallen into a pool on Highland Drive at approximately 7 p.m. on Feb. 1 were unsuccessful, according to Livingston police.

The wife explained to police that her husband had been out walking their dog, but she went looking for him after the dog returned without him. According to police, she ultimately found her husband partially submerged in a covered pool. 

The man was unresponsive when he was pulled from the water, according to police, who said the man died later that night while at the hospital. The victim was not identified in the report.
