LIVINGSTON, NJ - Livingston is strengthening its educational ties to China with a new exchange program. Last week, students from China attended class at LHS. In the spring, 14 LHS students will visit Zhengzhou No. 9 High School in Henan and Huazhong High School in Beijing.
This student exchange took root in the fall when Lucy Lee, LHS world language teacher, and Principal Mark Stern went to China, where they joined 400 principals, superintendents and school board members through the network of the College Board "Chinese Bridge for American Principals."
The exchange focused on culture and language immersion, with the students finding a world of common interests, from music to humor, observed Jeremy Knopf, one of the LHS participating in the exchange.
In addition to attending classes, the Livingston students will take a tour to the ancient city in Xi’an and the financial areas in Shanghai during their visit in April.
