LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston Municipal Court settled one case on Thursday, Jan. 16.
Luke McGuire of Livingston was charged with harassment and two individual offenses of disorderly conduct for pointing an airsoft handgun at his aunt, during a verbal dispute between the two individuals. The original charges of possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault were downgraded by the Essex County Prosecutors Office. It was determined that an airsoft weapon did not qualify as a firearm.
The two charges of disorderly conduct were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. McGuire plead guilty to an amended charge of township ordinance, creating a disturbance on private property, and was sentenced to pay a $100 fine and $33 in court cost fees.
