LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston Municipal Court settled one case for the week of May 25 through May 31.
John Grey of Rockaway was charged with DWI, speeding at 102 mph in a 65 mph zone, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, improper passing, unsafe lane change, careless driving, failure to give proper signal when changing lanes and obstructing traffic.
As part of a plea agreement, the charge of speeding was amended to a charge of speeding at 84 mph in a 65 mph zone. Additionally, all charges, except the charge of DWI, were dismissed.
For the amended speeding charge, Grey received a $406 fine and $33 in court cost fees. For DWI, he received a three-month license revocation, and was sentenced to pay fines of $256, $33 in court cost fees, $50 to the Victim of Crime Compensation Fund, $75 to the State Neighborhood Fund and a $200 DWI surcharge fee.
Grey must also attend the intoxicated driver recourse center for 12 hours.
