North Caldwell Police last saw her at 3 a.m. on Aug. 8 in front of St. Anthony of Padua’s Church.  She told the officers that she was waiting for her priest. She was medically evaluated by the first-aid squad and released. St. Anthony's is a Traditional Latin Mass parish.

The following morning, Tekirian’s mother informed the Livingston Police Department that she was missing.  A few days later, her purse was found at a post office facility in Teterboro, and, on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Tekirian’s car was found parked in a municipal lot in Caldwell.

Caldwell Police Chief James Bongiorno commented, "We continue to assist Livingston police with checking our municipality for this missing person and we refer any other questions to them as they are the lead agency in this investigation."

Also on Aug. 13, a person that fits Tekirian’s description was reported as praying in front of St. Aloysius Parish in Caldwell. Tekirian has been known to be very religious and has been seen frequently at churches. She also suffers from depression and has gone missing in the past. During her last disappearance, Tekirian was eventually found in North Carolina.

The Livingston Police Department has entered Tekirian into the National Missing Persons Registry. Anyone with information can contact Detective Greg Drucks at (973) 992-3000.

Getting a Handle on Thanksgiving

This year, on our National Day of Thanks, I would like to express my gratitude for having hands.

We typically don’t thank our body parts because they seldom leave us.  Most of us have not experienced unfortunate accidents or suffered the horrible consequences of war; tragic events  which might cause us to lose a limb.

Most of us take our fingers and hands and elbows ...
