SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The South Plainfield Library hosted an educational entertainment group on Thursday, August 01, 2013 called The Lizard Guys. The library had approximately 150 children and 90 parents jammed into the Senior Center for the live animal presentation. Enzo, from The Lizard Guys brought a lizard, tortoise, Madagascar hissing cockroaches and a boa named Tinker Bell.  The children were able to pet and pose for pictures at the end of the presentation with Tinker Bell.

In lieu of an admission fee to the program, the library requested donations for the Food Pantry.   Linda Hansen, the Director of the South Plainfield Library said “she was very pleased with the turnout and the overwhelming contributions to the Food Pantry.” Hansen also stated “she was thrilled to see so many parents and grandparents enjoying the show with their children.”

Lexi Ratti attended the show with her friends and stated she “loved it and thought it was awesome!! To be able to touch a snake in a safe way was really cool. The guy made learning about reptiles’ fun. The hissing cockroach was funny especially the different way Enzo made it hiss”.

James was so excited to see the snakes, lizards, and a turtle. The children were truly engaged and asked tons of questions. Enzo, (the lizard guy) kept the night moving along with interesting facts and fun stories. The real excitement happened at the end when each child was able to touch a Boa!”  Many parents commented, thanking the library and the wonderful programs they offer for the children.
