Local Talent Performs in GYPSY

Township residents, Mia Jenness (age 5) and Alexa Kerner (age 11) perform in GYPSY this weekend and next, with the Montclair Operetta Club at the Westminster Center for the Arts in Bloomfield, NJ.  Mia is playing the roles of “Toddler June” and “Balloon Girl” and Alexa is playing the role of “Baby June”. 

The show is directed by award winning director, Bob Cline, with musical direction by Gonzalo Valencia. “Gypsy” features a talented cast from New York and New Jersey, tells the true story of stagemother Rose as she pushes her daughters Louise (later known as Gypsy Rose Lee) and June into vaudeville. With lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, music by Jule Stein, “Gypsy” is a broadway favorite, with memorable songs including "Let Me Entertain You" and "Everything's Coming Up Roses."
