LP Dems to Host Block Party, BBQ Sunday

On the heels of its new office location opening in Lower Providence Township, the Lower Providence Democratic Committee will also hold its second annual Summer Block Party this Sunday.

On Aug. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m., the committee has scheduled its barbeque and family day. Slated to be held on the grounds of the I.B.E.W. 380 Pavilion, located at 4020 Crosskeys Road in Collegeville, there will be much to do at the fun-filled day, and the public is welcome to attend.

“The event includes free food, music, games, door prizes and craft vendors, and benefits the Democratic state and Congressional candidates,” said Lower Providence Democratic Chair Kelbin Carolina.

Candidates for the November elections in 2014 include

·      Tom Wolf for governor

·      Mike Stack for lieutenant governor

·      Manan Trivedi for 6th District U.S. Congress

·      Kathi Cozzone for 44th District state senate

·      David McKenzie for 150th District state assembly

on the democrats’ ballot.

The barbeque will include hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, salads, sodas and dessert. Area businesses and crafters will also sponsor booths to show off wares and services.

The day’s events are all subject to donation at the participants discretion. The suggested donation is $10 for singles or $20 for families.
