The New Jersey Legislature declared March 19th and 20th as official Literacy Days. In recognition of these days, Literacy Volunteers of New Jersey partnered with Barnes & Noble to host a book fair at its stores. A portion of the proceeds from sales on those days using the LV-NJ voucher number will be contributed by LV-NJ and distributed to its affiliates, including LV-UC.

The highlight of the book fair was a reading by author Chris Grabenstein at the Barnes & Noble in Clark, NJ on Saturday afternoon. Chris is an award-winning author of both a series of adult mysteries set in a NJ tourist town called Sea Haven and a series of ghost stories written for middle grade readers. Chris' background as an improvisational comic was apparent in his introduction as he kept the audience laughing.

Thanks to Chris for coming out to help us promote the cause of adult literacy and to all the volunteers and patrons of Barnes & Noble who supported the book fair.
