MADISON, NJ - After spotting the visitors two runs in the top of the first inning, the Madison varsity baseball team struck back quickly and kept the pressure on throughout the game.
Fueled by a four-run first inning, the Dodgers rolled to an 11-3 victory over Morristown-Beard Friday afternoon in Madison.
Brian Chinni, who leads the Dodgers in RBI this season, went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI and Tim Azzolini went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for Madison (7-6-1). The score was 4-3 when Madison added two runs in the bottom of the third for a 6-3 lead on Zack Evans' two-run single. Gavin Wallace and Ian Weber each finished with two hits for the Dodgers.
After a rocky start, pitcher Wallace settled in and closed out the game with five shutout innings to gain the victory.
