Madison Beats Hanover Park, 5-3, with Late Rally


MADISON, NJ - Ryan Higgins pitched a complete game and Ian Weber delivered a big hit in the sixth inning to boost Madison's baseball team to a 5-3 victory over Hanover Park Monday afternoon.

Weber's two-run single in the sixth gave the Dodgers a 5-3 lead. Higgins walked just one and scattered seven hits with four strikeouts in seven innings to gain the victory.

Tyler Pilat and Bobby Finelli singled in runs in the opening inning to give Madison (10-8) a 2-0 lead. In the third, after Hanover Park (9-12) had tied the game, Madison regained the lead, 3-2, when Pilat's sacrifice fly knocked in Gavin Wallace, who had tripled. Hanover Park re-tied the contest, 3-3, with a run in the fifth.

Pat Colligan finished with a double, a single and a run scored in four at-bats for Madison. Joe Falco also had a double in Madison's victory.
