MADISON, NJ - Each year, the Madison Chamber of Commerce provides scholarships to Madison High School students of at least $500, and the deadline for application is April 18, 2014.
The scholarship is designed to encourage and support the education of a Madison High School student who will be pursing a career in a field of study that will enrich and contribute to commerce and who has been accepted by a post secondary education institution. Commerce is a broad term and applies not just to someone who intends to be a “Business Major”, but any career where consumer contact or business development is involved.
The scholarship is named in memory of Jack Morris of Stewart-Morris Awards & Gifts as a tribute to his commitment to the Chamber and to the Madison community. Mr. Morris was a 1948 graduate of Madison High School.
The Jack Morris Memorial Scholarship is one of the largest scholarship distributions in town. In 2013, the Chamber awarded $3,000.00 to three students who intended to pursue business careers after college. The funds to support the Jack Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund are through the result of Chamber fundraising activities throughout the year.
The application is available in the Madison High School Guidance office.
