MADISON,  NJ - Madison’s annual Easter Fun Fest entertained hundreds of children and their parents under a bright sunshine with temperatures in the 70s. Organized by the Madison Chamber of Commerce, the event was sponsored by Cleaners Advantage, Madison Bagel Café, Rose City Collision, Hilltop Bicycles, Madison Car Wash, Tapinto Madison, Tons of Toys, Madison Pharmacy, and Morris Animal Inn. Easter baskets were donated by the Madison Stop & Shop.

On Waverly Place, the statue of James Madison and a large inflated Easter Bunny shared the plaza. The Easter Bunny herself, played by Kate Salko of TomKat Fine Woodworking, LLC, attracted large lines of children waiting to pose with her.

Karen Giambra, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, enthused that the event welcomes children in the borough and from surrounding towns and is a great venue for merchants to display and describe their wares and services. Participating businesses hung balloons out front to attract kids who would collect Easter eggs therein. After collecting five eggs, a child was eligible to have his or her name entered into a raffle to win a Rip Rock Bicycle donated by Pete Daniele of Rose City Collision, an Easter plant, and car wash passes. In addition, there was a contest to guess the correct number of jellybeans in a large jar. The winner of that contest won a gift certificate to Tons of Toys, an Easter plant and car wash passes. Pete Daniele explained that “everyone in the family is a winner: the kid wins a bike or gift certificate to the toy store, and the family members win plants and car wash passes.” He stated that “residents of other towns are envious that their towns don’t sponsor such a well-attended and fun event.”
