MADISON, NJ - Several vehicles were broken into throughout the Orchard section on the southwest side of the borough on Wednesday night.
In the wake of this rash of burglaries, Madison police are advising motorists in the borough to make sure that their car doors are locked at all times, and to report any signs of suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
"Sometime during the early morning hours of July 10, nine unlocked vehicles were entered and items such as cell phones, cash, portable GPS units and other valuables were taken," Madison Lt. Joseph P. Cirella said in a statement. "All residents are urged to be vigilant in locking their vehicles and to remove all valuables. Residents are asked to call police headquarters at 973-593-3000 if they observe anything suspicious."
According to Madison police, surrounding communities have also reported similar incidents.
