On September 10, 2013 at approximately 7:30 pm, Sgt Sean Plumstead arrested 20 year old Nicole Carroll of Parsippany. Plumstead stopped Carroll’s vehicle for an equipment violation. During the investigation, Plumstead detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle and also observed in plain view various items indicative of marijuana use. The investigation further determined that Carroll was allegedly in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. Carroll was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to utilize headlamps, and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle. She was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.
On September 11, 2013 at approximately 9 pm, Ptl. Stephanie Corrao arrested 36 year old Andrew Sichko of Budd Lake. Corrao, along with Sgt Sean Plumstead, stopped the vehicle in which Sichko was a passenger for several equipment violations. During the investigation, it was determined that Sichko was allegedly under the influence of narcotics and was in possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
On September 12, 2013 at approximately 7:30pm, an employee from Gary’s Wine and Market place reported a shoplifting. According to the employee, the suspect is described as white male, 6ft tall, 200 lbs, late 20’s-30’s wearing orange capri pants, white T-shirt and a fitted black flat brimmed hat. The suspect allegedly concealed a bottle of wine in a bag and placed it in one of the refrigerators. As the employee attempted to make contact with the individual, the suspect ran from the store. The suspect left the area in a white SUV. This investigation has been turned over to the Madison Police Detective Bureau. On September 12, 2013 at approximately 9:00pm, a Madison resident reported that there were two males attempting to burglarize two vehicles in a parking lot off of Cross Street. The witness advised that the two males ran from the scene when he confronted them. Both of the suspects were described as Hispanic, one of them wearing a hat and gray shorts. There were no other witnesses available and no items of evidential value were left behind by the suspects. On September 13, 2013 at 7:30pm, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested 43 year old Shawn Backe of Madison, NJ. Dellavalle responded to the area of the Madison YMCA on report of two males climbing the signal lights on the NJ Transit property. Dellavalle made contact with the two males and conducted a computer check. One of the males, Backe, had an active warrant for his arrest from Montville Twp Municipal Court in the amount of $228. He was arrested, posted bail, and was released pending a court appearance.
On September 14, 2013 at approximately 5:00pm, Ptl Chad Rybka arrested 51 year old William Tappen of Madison, NJ. Rybka responded to the Madison Ambulance Corp on report that an intoxicated male had just driven into the parking lot of an event being held at the building. Upon making contact with Tappen, Rybka detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Rybka had Tappen perform field sobriety tests and determined that he was allegedly not able to operate a motor vehicle safely. Tappen was charged with Driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit a breath test, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, operation of an uninsured vehicle, and careless driving. He was later released pending a court appearance.
On September 14, 2013 at approximately 7:40 am, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested a 17 year old juvenile male of Kinnelon, NJ. Dellavalle respondedto the area of Kings Road on report that a driver may have been operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The vehicle was spotted and stopped by Dellavalle. During the investigation, Dellavalle detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from the juvenile driver’s breath. Dellavalle had the juvenile perform field sobriety evaluations and determined that the juvenile was allegedly not able to operate a vehicle safely. The juvenile was charged with driving while intoxicated, underage d.w.i., d.w.i. in a school zone, reckless driving, and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. The juvenile was released to a parent pending a court appearance.
On September 19, 2013 at approximately 10:30pm, Ptl Matthew Mirabella arrested 38 year old Annette Medina of Elizabeth, NJ. Mirabella was advised by a passing motorist that Medina was allegedly operating her vehicle while intoxicated. Mirabella was able to locate Medina’s vehicle in Chatham Borough and observed Medina allegedly commit a moving violation. Mirabella subsequently stopped Medina and detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from her breath. Mirabella had Medina perform field sobriety tests and determined that she was allegedly not able to operate a motor vehicle safely. Medina was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit a breath test, failure to observe a traffic signal, and failure to maintain lane. She was released to a friend pending a court appearance.
On September 21, 2013 at approximately 2:40 pm, an employee at the Radio Shack reported a shoplifting. According to the employee, two males acting together allegedly stole a 32 GB white Retina Display iPad valued at $599.99. The males are described as follows: Suspect # 1: White male in his late 20's, unshaven, wearing a gray hoodie, jeans, thin and approximately 5'10. Suspect # 2: White male in his early to mid 20's, heavy set (350 lbs. +), tall (at least 6'0), with closely cropped hair and balding (no clothing description). On September 21, 2013, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested 49 year old Barbra Einterz of Madison, NJ. A manager of the Stop & Shop contacted the police about an individual allegedly shoplifting. Upon arrival of the officers, Einterz was identified as the shoplifter and was taken into custody. During the investigation, it was determined that Einterz was wanted for a previous alleged shoplifting in the same store. She was charged with two counts of shoplifting and was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.
On September 22, 2013 at approximately 6:30am, Ptl Chad Rybka arrested 45 year old Lisa McAllister of Chatham. While on patrol, Rybka conducted a random check on McAllister’s license plate through the DMV system and determined that there were two active warrants for her arrest from the Madison Joint Municipal Court totaling $350. McAllister posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.
On September 23, 2013 at approximately 7:50 pm, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested 22 year old Julio Calderon of Plainfield. Dellavalle stopped Calderon’s vehicle for a moving violation. During the investigation, it was determined that there was an active warrant for Calderon’s arrest from Springfield Township Municipal Court in the amount of $120. Calderon posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.
