MADISON, NJ - On June 13, 2013, a Green Village Road resident reported that her Infiniti SUV was stolen during the overnight hours. The Madison Police was able to recover the vehicle in a timely manner in Newark, NJ. This vehicle is one of many high end vehicles stolen throughout this area of NJ. Residents are urged to remove the key fob from the vehicle prior to leaving the vehicle unattended. If the key fob is left inside of the vehicle, thieves can gain entry and drive away with the vehicle without any effort.

On June 13, 2013 at approximately 9:40 pm, Detective Kenneth Shannon and Detective Paul Kosakowski arrested 18 year olds Pierre Pais and Andrew Krayacich of Chatham, NJ. The detectives observed a young looking male exit a liquor store on Main Street carrying various alcoholic beverages. After observing the individual enter the passenger side of a vehicle which drove away from the area, the detectives performed a motor vehicle stop to check the individual’s identity. Both occupants, Pais and Krayacich were found to be under the age of 21. It was determined that Krayacich allegedly used a fake driver’s license to purchase the alcoholic beverages. Krayacich was charged with underage purchase of alcohol and underage possession of alcohol, while Pais was charged with underage possession of alcohol. Both were released on their own recognizance pending a court appearance.

Hampton was arrested on the strength of this no bail warrant and was also charged with Hindering Apprehension. He was transferred over to the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.

On June 20, 2013 at approximately 11:30am, Ptl. Joseph Longo arrested 22 year old Marquese Jones of Newark, NJ. Perrelli then stopped the vehicle based on the report from the concerned 911 caller. While speaking with the driver, who was identified as Defares, Perrelli detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Perrelli had Defares perform field sobriety evaluations.
