MADISON, NJ - A change of leadership took place on June 4 for the Rotary Club of Madison.
Outgoing President Camper Bull handed the gavel to newly installed President Deborah Starker in a ceremony at Mayfair Farms in West Orange.
In addition, the new slate of officers for the year 2014-2015 was introduced: President-Elect Ray Freaney; Vice-President Jeanne Tsukamoto; Recording Secretary, Cathie Coultas; Membership Secretary, Barry Kroll; Treasurer, Art Powell; Membership Development, David Morozoff; Grants & Sponsorship Chair, Joe Smith; Nino Coviello and Bob Chapman, Sergeants-at-Arms (a.m. and p.m., respectively).
The newly elected members of the Board of Directors also were introduced: Maureen Byrne, Marybeth Cooney, John Hoover and Diane Mann (for the period 2014-2016, commencing July 1.)
The prestigious Paul Harris Fellow recognition was awarded to certain members for their financial contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Recipients were Carlotta Budd, Herman Fickenscher, Bruce Fielding, Dave Farrell, Bill Saller, Tom Uhlman, Barry Kroll and Jim Allison.
A special Paul Harris Fellow recognition was presented by former Madison Mayor Woody Kerkeslager to his wife Ruth as well as to his mentor, fellow club member Steve Fulda.
Prior to the event, Carmela Moeller was recognized as Rotarian of the Year.
