Madison Softball Team Blasts Caldwell out of State Tournament

MADISON, NJ - Kristina Qualben hit a home run and finished with four runs batted in to propel Madison's varsity softball teeam to a 10-1 victory over Caldwell on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Section 2, Group 2 state tournament.

Qualben and Jill Caruso, who had a double, each delivered three hits for the Dodgers (17-4), who racked up six runs in the third inning to break open what had been a scoreless duel to that point.

The six spot was more than enough for pitcher Stephanie Deeb, who pitched a five-hitter with no walks and four strikeouts.
