Maleku Folklore Costa Rica at RRA Concert Series July 23

July 11, 2014 at 9:00 AM

SUMMIT, NJ - Maleku Folklore Costa Rica is a Summit-based organization formally established to promote and preserve the heritage of Costa Rica through traditional dances and “concherias.”   Each joyous presentation of the Maleku Folklore Costa Rica pays homage to and celebrates the indigenous cultures of the Costa Rican natives through song, dance, and colorful costumes.  All will be on display as Maleku Folklore Costa Rica headlines the July 23  Sounds of A Summer Night concert at Reeves-Reed Arboretum.

All Sounds of A Summer Night concerts are on Wednesday evenings, and begin with the Arboretum grounds opening up at 6 p.m. for concertgoers to picnic.  The performances are from 7 - 8 p.m., with attendees encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.  The cost is free to Reeves-Reed Arboretum members, thanks to underwriting support from Investors Bank.  There is a $10 donation at the door for non-members; students are $5 with a valid ID.

Sounds of A Summer Night is sponsored, in part, thanks to support from Nick & Tracy McKee, the Grand Summit Hotel, and the Summit Area Public Foundation.  For more information, visit reeves-reedarboretum.org. or call 908 / 273-8787.  The arboretum is located at 165 Hobart Avenue.

Man vs. Waze

A lot of strange cars are traveling through my quiet neighborhood these days.  They are not driven by my neighbors.  Some mornings I even have trouble getting out of my driveway.
