Man Arrested for Kidnapping and Aggravated Sexual Assault

Authorities arrested a Somerset County man on Friday and charged him with 1st Degree Kidnapping and 1st Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, announced Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Donald Andrews DOB: 10/26/1969 was charged in connection with June 2, 2010 case in which prosecutors allege that he engaged in improper sexual contact with a minor. The victim in the case contacted the Roselle Park Police Department who launched an investigation. Andrews was identified as the suspect in the case, was charged with 4th degree criminal sexual contact, but remained at large for several weeks, said Romankow.

Police tracked him down to an address in Bernards Township and arrested him on Friday. During the investigation that that followed the arrest, additional charged were filed today in connection with a separate incident that occurred on October 31, 2010.

In that case, Andrews is accused of holding an adult woman against her will and sexually assaulting her. That assault occurred in Elizabeth, N.J. He is charged with 1st Degree Kidnapping and 1st Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault. He is being held on $600,000 bail at the Union County Jail, said Romankow.

These criminal charges are mere accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
