PATERSON, NJ – City police on Wednesday arrested an 18-year-old man and charged him with two counts of attempted murder in connection with a September 21 shooting in Roberto Clemente Park.

Police said members of the Cease-Fire unit picked up the suspect in the evening near the Shell gas station at the corner of Madison Avenue and Market Street. His name has not been released because he was 17 at the time the crime was committed, police said. City police said they are working with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office in an attempt to have the case moved to adult court.

Two people were wounded in the September shooting, which authorities say stemmed from a fight.
