PATERSON, NJ- A 37-year old Paterson man sought refuge in a home in the area of Atlantic Street and Newark Avenue after having been robbed and shot by several males in a blue vehicle on Saturday.

According to a statement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area at approximately 9:06 p.m. following the report of a burglary. 

Upon arrival the police located the victim with a non-fatal gunshot wound inside the house. The homeowners, thinking the victim was a burglar, called the police. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.
